Ethiopia, Africa’s second largest country is getting ready to its fourth population and housing census in November 2017.
The country is planning in earnest digital technologies to improve the efficiency of the process and quality of the outcome of the census. Digital data capture technology will be at the heart of Ethiopia’s upcoming census operation.
The 2017 population and housing census which will be undertaken by the central statistical agency, with the support of development partners and UN agencies is part of the 2020 round population censuses.
Thirteen countries from Africa gathered in Addis Ababa which the Ethiopian statistical agency organized it.
The meeting provided a forum for sharing knowledge on ICT-enabled census data capture, transfer, and dissemination process.
